Poem:  The Wake Forest Kids

This poem was written by a resident of the nursing home in Clemmons where students from the Wake Forest Catholic Community visit each week. You are invited to join us. Make it a part of your regular schedule in 2009!

We look forward to Thursdays

Because that's when the Wake Forest Kids come

driving up.

We look forward to each Thursday

It helps to make for our nice weekends

The Wake Forest kids come driving up and that's when the fun begins!

They help us to play Bingo

And ask the trivia questions too,

We do alright playing Bingo

But the trivia questions are taboo.

We are fortunate to have them

To come and help us out,

For trhey are the finest

That goes without a doubt.

We wish them all the best

In all their major tests,

Just remember always

The best comes tot he best!

We love you all!

What is the Wake Forest Catholic Community?

Welcome to the Wake Forest Catholic Community's online home! You are invited to participate in the WFCC. We want to invite you to share in the Eucharist with us, to experience a fun and supportive community to experience Franciscan hospitality and spirituality and to know that you are always most welcome.

Our Goal

The Wake Foresty Catholic Community is a ministry of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Charlotte. Our goal is to provide opportunities for students to practice and express their Catholic Faith by providing a "parish away from home". Various students are involved in activities ranging from participation in Mass to on- and off-campus ministries. We have participated in many national and international service trips in order to spread the Good News and to hear it from those we are privileged to serve. On campus activities include weekly dinners, candlelight vigils, the RCIA program, Why Catholic, and ecumenical sharing. These activities are coordinated by the Peer Ministry Council (PMC), consisting of WFU Catholic Students. Father Jude (A Coventual Franciscan Friar) and Julie are full time Catholic Campus Ministers who have served on campus at Wake Forest for a combined 20 years!
